Proposal description

pshenmic.dev Platform Explorer Funding Proposal March 2025
Updated on 11 Feb 2025
Hey folks!
This is funding proposal for pshenmic.dev DFO Website project for March 2025.
https://pshenmic.dev
Concept
The goal of the website is few things at once. Firstly, it will showcase a Web integration
of all current Dash Platform protocol features including NFTs, discovering any potential
issues with SDK together with modern web frontend development. Additionally, we are
going to use it for our DFO operations, and move all accounting, task management, and
payments in the Platform, archiving that information in the chain forever. That should give
much more transparency on current progress, updates, and current budget on projects
that the team are working on right now.
With previous budget, we have been able to achieve authentication with working data
storage and retrieval in the on the first pages on the website. It wasn’t so easy to combine
all things together but fortunately it works way better than we expected.

Overall experience
We were able to make first integration work and it works really great. Dash Platform
works very fast and able to deliver acceptable response times for users, like maybe
1-2 seconds before your transaction finalized in the chain, so literally it looks like you
are making a Facebook or Twitter post and we definitely can build good UX with that
assumption.
However during implementation we faced a lot of different challenges, such as better
cross-page authentication handling, faster client sync, missing good documentation,
issues in the SDK, and all that together currently highly increases the development
costs for such projects, as the people instead of writing frontend features spending
their time on investigation the root cause of the bugs and trying to workaround
them.
That helped us to find few severe issues and I have been able to fix the most blocking
one, and it is now waiting for the review in the Dash Platform main repository. Hopefully
we will merge them soon unblocking people with Dash Platform DApps development.

Dash SDK Authentication
The first thing we did, we’ve added a login interface, that let you enter seed phrase and
sync with the network. It works transparently in the background allowing you to switch
between pages without interrupting the process. Additionally, we have added a caching
of downloaded sync data, so next time you try to connect your wallet, sync process will
go much faster. After the sync is complete, you can choose from one of your identities
that you would like to use on website.
Creating, Editing and Deleting Projects
After we finished with platform identity authentication, we got everything on set to
move some data storage and retrieval in the Platform. We started with projects, and
it works like some sort of CMS (Content Management System), where you have an
interface for managing your website data. It works through submitting a documents
batch transaction with a Create, Replace or Delete document transition from your
identity, pushing the data in the blockchain, and querying that data back from the
DAPI.
If you logged in as an admin identity, you will be able to see an interface for creation,
editing, or deleting the projects.
Demo
You may test what we’ve done by using our test instance:

Click on the login with seed phrase, and use that seed phrase as a test

After sync, one of the identity will have an Admin role that you could use to test
Budget
For next implementation round we ask 150 Dash, that we expect should cover creation
of the tasks, and letting every other people make a comments to them.
