Proposal description

Colibit: Enabling a free Dash/VEF market in Venezuela

This is a resubmission of the original proposal that was voted in the December voting cycle but failed by 6 votes. When this proposal get's to 5% GreenCandle will provide Colibit with the first month of development funds so that they can get started on this project. Venezuela needs our help!

  • Enable DASH/VEF market in Colibit Cryptocurrency Exchange in Venezuela.
  • Paid marketing campaign through Colibit's social media and Colibit's landing page Dash branding.
  • Education through Colibit's dedicated live chat channels (site live chat, Facebook chat and Telegram bot).
  • Special Dash fee for a year after adding Dash markets. No fee for Dash deposits, Dash withdrawals, Dash order maker and only 0.1% for Dash order takers.
  • Dash giveaway of 0.002 for 5000 KYC verified users. Including already verified users plus new ones. The purpose is for both promoting Dash and for initial market Dash funding.
  • Project escrowed by GreenCandle. Payouts to Colibit through milestone completion in a 6 month development cycle.

This proposal didn't receive enough votes by the deadline (6 votes short) so it was not passed in last months budget.

what's the update on colibit? twitter says that conatel (vez gov agency for communications) was blocking their dns.
a) why not keep running telling customers to use a vpn?
b) why not host the site in a different country where conatel cannot block the vpn?
c) cryptolifex exchange is looking to apply for a license with vez gov, how come colibit is not looking to do same?

I want to sincerely thank the community for the valuable feedback they gave us during our first proposal submission for this project. There was overwhelming support for this project towards the end and we felt it needed a second chance. That experience also highlighted the need for us to urge MNOs to vote early. Unfortunately - as was the case for this first submission (only 6 votes short) - late votes do not count.

Despite not having reached the required support yet, we are confident that MNOs will find new value in the changes presented to them in this revised version. This relatively small expenditure will have far a reaching impact on people's daily lives. This is not a cry for help, but a cry for action. I am asking MNO's to get involved and support a worthy cause now. Let us help Colibit spread Dash in Venezuela and make a meaningful difference.

Liked it the first time. Like it even better the second time. Let's go fix Venezuela. Because Dash can do stuff like that. And note that if the Dash marketing people aren't salivating over this proposal, they are not doing their job.

Carry on! Have fun! Win!

Excellent! A great advantage would be the approval of this proposal, in Venezuela Dash is getting to position itself as the most viable payment method in cryptocurrencies and an exchange that also does a good job in BTC, represents a great advance.

Well, I am happy to see this proposal LIVE again, and RELOADED!!!

First, because this talks about the resilience of the team, after a big frustration, they quickly reinvented themselves and tried again, with renewed enthusiasm and strength, and learning from their previous experience.

And also because... WE REALLY NEED THIS IN VENEZUELA!!!!

Thanks to all MNOs, Greencandle and the rest of DASH Community for the support you are giving to Venezuela, it is a light of hope in this black nigth we are living. THANK YOU!!!

Greencandle, you said the original proposal was not passed, but as I can see it was passed actually. Can you please clarify what exact not passed proposal you talking about?

Thank you for this question. Let us take the time to make a statement about this. It wasn't us that said it didn't pass but rather the story that is told by the blockchain and verified by the Superblocks.

The proposal is showing on some of the community run sites (such as this one) as passed but in fact the votes that came in, to allow this proposal to be passed, didn't come in until after the voting cycle was closed last month. Since these votes didn't arrive until after the cycle closed it meant that this proposal wasn't included in the funding cycle.

This has caused a great deal of confusion (and additional stress to everyone involved) because after the roller coaster last month we came short by 6 votes but then also saw the proposal green after the fact. It caused an emotional roller coaster but if you step back and look at the blockchain and at the Superblocks that just occurred you will notice that this proposal was not included in those Superblocks and it was never paid out.

It is a great reminder to the Dash Nation that every vote counts! In this proposal the difference was only 6 votes and the passing votes were in transit to the network but were not received with consensus until after the block came that closed the voting cycle. Hopefully all MNO's will consider this and vote early and often in this cycle!

I don't like partnering with exchanges for anything beyond integration costs, but since this is a relatively small proposal, taken on the whole this seems like a net positive. Hope we can achieve easier access to Dash for Venezuelans. Good luck

I was wondering why only .002D/KYC member for promo but it turns out that much Dash is actually about the equivalent to the daily take-home for someone making minimum wage in Venezuela. WOW. So, take a few minutes to sign up for Colibit and make a day's wages with chance of purchasing power appreciation, instead of collapsing with the VEF.
I love this proposal and think we should be doing more for poor countries.
We can literally save lives with Dash and get adoption as digital cash!
