Proposal description

Based on input from MNOS, we have decided to restructure our proposal to comprise a significantly-reduced base ask (100 Dash) while submitting separate proposals for larger, more targeted marketing campaigns. Separate proposals will include campaigns such as our ongoing Cointelegraph DAO report campaign and Brave campaign. This base funding will be used primarily to maintain a strong social media presence, support DCG with translation bounties, website updates etc., and incentivize community contributions such as merchant adoption. Additionally, this will act as a buffer for unforeseen costs related to major campaign proposals including price fluctuations.

Please see our updated Rules document for any changes, including restructuring geared towards more one-off campaign proposals. Major changes include:

-New bounties are now approved only by Director consensus. This means that we will approve bounties more selectively, as well as quicker.
-External parties, such as DCG representatives, can become Admins for the purpose of overseeing work that affects their DFO.
-For bounties that end up receiving their own separate proposals, tasks are only paid out after (and if) their separate proposal is funded.

Please see our previous proposal for this quarter for spending breakdowns etc.

Discussion: Should we fund this proposal?

I think using Brave ads is clever as that demographic may be more into something like Dash.

For Dash outreach selecting a specific city and focusing on massive onboarding, ATMs, merchants and ads in that area may also be a good idea.

A Dash city if you will. Once one place is conquered we can move on.

This was how Facebook did it and it's how you can use local network effects to your advantage.

I would fold the DMH Twitter engagement and any other "cost effective" social media stuff into a Incubator bounty and scrape the rest of this proposal. DCG can pay for their own one-off translation bounties and website stuff.

Focus on larger separate proposals for campaigns like the Cointelegraph DAO report campaign and Brave campaign. I will 100% support that!

Boy, you dodged my question why you ordered Flare to leave DCG?
We deserve to know the true reason why.

I have no idea what you are talking about

What in Gods Name have you done to make Flare leave DCG?

Unfortunately, merging with the Incubator is entirely out of the question since we have completely different purposes, rules, teams, and a structure geared towards this sort of work and not technical specifications. The Twitter bounty in particular was originally proposed as part of the Incubator, but a plurality of Admins, including all historical POs, rejected this idea and instead insisted that we fork the Incubator.

Pass or fail, the Twitter engagement part will be funded one way or another.

Are you planning to donate to the running of the account in the case of this base funding proposal not going through? Otherwise it would have to be funded as part of other explicit campaigns, though that would just be social media engagement for those campaigns, not general and not in between campaigns.

I have been informed that if this proposal is not funded the Incubator is open to exploring options for funding the Twitter part, however their main focus will remain on development related stuff.

DCG has really stepped up their Twitter engagement the last couple of months so the Twitter part is really not as important as it once was. I have also seen a couple of grassroots community style Dash Twitter accounts pop up recently that are getting solid engagement and putting out good content.
That said, I like what you guys are doing there and support continuing that engagement.

How do you figure that?

Will the dash marketing hub produce more than 100 dash worth of value for the network per month? Will it lead to at least 100 dash being purchased per month? If the past year of funding is to go by, no, it will not.

Vote no on unnecessary sell pressure. It doesn't matter how small. This isn't a charity.

I typed up some questions yesterday but they were deleted somehow, but here we go again:

-What specifically do we do that you DON'T think provides value?
-What specifically do we do that you DO think provides value?
-Do you think the explicit ad campaigns (Cointelegraph DAO report, Brave Browser, etc.) provide/will provide value?
-If you could direct Hub activities, what do you think we should do to provide the most value?

The dash marketing hub has collected over 3000 dash, correct? Do you believe it has generated 3000 dash in sales? I don't. I think probably not even close.

So the DMH leads to sell pressure, without generating buy pressure. It suppresses the price. It is hurting holders and the rest of the network.

If I directed hub activities everything funded would map to a measurable increase in demand. Claiming that to do so is "literally impossible" shows that this isn't a serious organization.

That answers not a single one of my very specific questions.

Yes. While it's literally impossible to know how much Dash people buy because of our efforts, we're one of the very few organizations actually getting the word out about Dash. Dash is better off with us than without us.

Not so sure about that anymore. Perhaps Dash would be better off without you guys.
All we really need is a social star CEO with at least 10million social followers (the more the better), that would likely give us 10,000times your lousy results with a cost of nearly zero.
What a waste your pathetic marketing hub actually is.

> "a social star CEO with at least 10million social followers ... with a cost of nearly zero"

LOL, good luck with that.

Do you have the slightest idea, what compensation a CEO of that caliber demands?

Yeah! All we need is Elon Musk as DCG CEO then we can all just kick back and let the big bucks roll in! Putting hard work and funds into small time marketing gigs sucks.

We have already been putting in hard work and funds for many years.
So how is that working out so far?
Hard work will only get us to a certain point, but never beyond.
In the time we live, the one single thing that counts way, way more than ANYTHING ELSE is social reach!
And guess what, Musk is not the only one who has an ocean of followers.
Why would we ever again hire a CEO with nearly zero social reach, when we already know the impact he will likely have?
Doing that is nonsense, and everyone who clearly thinks about it, knows its true.

You misunderstand our purpose. We're a community action hub that rewards people for doing all the nitty gritty work that normally goes unrecognized (if it even gets done in the first place).

Thanks for responding to the community's input and good luck. You have my Yes.
