Important Incubator Update
A little over a year ago (just before the
2023 Q3 proposal) we created the Incubator
strategist role to tighten the relationship between admins and the MNOs (and give MNOs granular funding options). Strategists submitted their own proposals to maximize communication and effectiveness. This quarter we're taking that idea to the next step. I've encouraged all current strategists to submit their own independent proposals moving forward. I think this approach is best for everyone. Mikhail's
phenmic.dev proposal kickstarted this process, and I'm happy to see the support for his organization. All current strategists will continue in their roles until their reserves are used. They won't submit any more Incubator funding proposals. The timing for their independent proposals is still uncertain.
This will be the only Dash Incubator proposal this quarter, and we plan on having one proposal each month/quarter until further notice.

This Quarter's Plans
My main goal with Incubator moving forward (if funded) will be to do more outreach, primarily to developers, but also to a wider audience, such as what I did while recently attending the
Permissionless III conference, where I met several potential partners and devs. I will introduce developers, entrepreneurs, and small business owners to Dash and Dash Platform and help them submit independent proposals if they need funding for development or integration. I will simplify this process by creating a new app that will store proposal data on Dash Platform and use DashPay usernames for auth. Developing this myself will have a side benefit of giving me more hands on experience using Dash Core and Dash Platform libraries, which will help me when reaching out to others.
The first iteration of the proposal app will require devs/users to pay the 1 DASH network proposal fee, but a later feature will allow others to crowdfund proposal fees. This will give the community and MNOs more say in what gets proposed. A separate Platform app will allow devs to easily host their apps with a few clicks, by simply paying a modest amount (x DASH/month).
