Proposal description
This proposal is for the second quarter 2025 of the Dash Growth business development and marketing initiative.
Dash Growth consists of two full-time employees: Joël Valenzuela (myself) and Marina Siradegyan. We also employ several part-time contractors: Dan Sessom (video animations), Alex Rourke (video clips), Black Mirror Designer (graphics and presentations).
Last quarter recap
This last quarter we three major wins that will be mentioned up top:
1) Flexa (major US payment provider) is in the process of integrating Dash support. This will open Dash as an option to pay in many other wallets, and when integrated into DashPay (this is being scoped out as we speak), it will give Dash users a way to spend their Dash at thousands of merchants more seamlessly than DashDirect. Flexa and the AMP token community also have significant visibility and passion, and we hope to increase Dash's presence in the crypto payments space as a result of this.
2) Resulting from our efforts with Flexa, it now looks increasingly likely that we will obtain a New York Bitlicense, hopefully this year. We still need to figure out some extra logistics, but for the first time we have a partner willing to work with us to make this happen. Obtaining a Bitlicense would open up doors to many other companies and payment providers in the US where Dash is currently excluded, an would represent a major turnaround for Dash's regulatory status and reputation.
3) We managed to reverse a threatened delisting for Dash in the European market. The partner will remain confidential, but upon hearing of a planned delisting, we rapidly engaged and presented our recently-obtained legal opinion letter. This resulted in the delisting being reversed. We are now confident that this approach can work in the rest of the European region, and we are prioritizing reaching out to payment processors, exchanges, etc. in this region.
A highlight of the past quarter has been the INLEO social media site partnership. We released a promotional video on YouTube and X, and have continued promotional efforts on our side in social media posts, X space mentions, appearances on podcasts, and more. The INLEO team has responded with running ads promoting signing up and earning Dash, and this has reported brought 10,000 new signups to the platform under this marketing angle. We announced a partnership with the Illuminex privacy-focused L2 and wallet, with a planned integration for Q1 this year. We also were added to crypto super app Zypto, a noncustodial app which offers a complete crypto usage experience including gift cards, prepaid cards, bill pay, integrated hardware wallet support, and much more. This partnership may soon allow 3 billion people around the world to pay all their bills with Dash. Dash was recently listed on the DApp page for Uquid, a global crypto shopping site. We also announced a partnership with Vultisig, a Web3-enabled wallet which uses threshold signatures for multi-factor authentication for maximum security. Vultisig supports mobile, desktop, and browser extension wallets, and has Dash swaps integrated via the Maya Protocol. For this partnership, Vultisig integrated InstantSend, and is interested in integrating additional Dash features in the future.
We have commissioned a series of 9 (so far) animated videos, two of which have been published so far (promoting the INLEO integration and the DashPay wallet), as well as many short clips of these videos, published on X, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and more.
We are announced as presenters and sponsors for Web3 Amsterdam in March, and speakers at ETHDam and the Litecoin Summit, with several more conferences to announce this year.
Finally, we appeared on numerous spaces, shows, and held spaces with numerous partners, all of which are linked at the bottom of this proposal.
What's ahead
This coming quarter, our main agenda is to promote the DashPay wallet, including its built-in spending tools DashSpend and Flexa, as well as the ability to use it to live entirely off of crypto in much of the world, as much as possible. This may include refocusing the Brave ad campaign we have on hold to highlight the wallet and its potential, an schedule another campaign for when developer SDKs and tokens are finished for Evolution.
We will also focus on the theme of a comeback from regulatory FUD: attempt to attain a Bitlicense, stop delistings and acquire relistings in the European market and beyond, and publicize these wins as evidence that Dash is on a comeback.
And finally, we will expand our reach to as many third party wallets and services as possible to integrate Evolution features, starting with those in DashPay, and then including token support. This will also include targeting the launch of stablecoins and BTC-denominated tokens on Dash.
Ask
We are changing our monthly ask to 530 Dash in light of recent market movements. This revised ask will be enough to sustain our two full-time salaries as long as the price remains at or above $21. If the price recovers over the next quarter, we will reduce our ask to previous levels and focus other discretionary spending on other proposals such as the Evolution Marketing Warchest.
