i'm thanking Sam not masternodes, because he understood the concept of refreshing the branding, but 1 DASH deserves even more than "a thank", today you can buy one family meal per day for 1 DASH. Does one meal for a family deserves "a thank"? and we're talking about a monthly proposal of $5k/month for a period of 3 months that is still the same as my first proposal of 300-600 DASH depending on the rates

If you did that because you want to gauge the willingness of the DAO, let me inform you that the DAO is very insolvent, they are snakes, they may say something today and the total opposite the other.

This 1 Dash proposal is just a waste of your time and money. Dont do it again. You have better add from the beginning a 70-200 range proposal.

This is so much awesome proposal and I would like to elaborate on this, people!

Few weeks ago we had a call with Brian Foster about Dash.org website with the further decision of handing off website development to our team. The problem with current website, that it has too much technical debt, making it almost impossible to implement, test, and rollout the changes, and that’s the reason why it is taking so long. It’s been build ages ago on Wordpress with over 20 plugins conflicting with each others, making it insanely hard to implement even small changes. Going further with it will only make things even worse in long run.

My team is going to make a new Dash.org website, written on the modern frontend techs, which will allow faster development, highest quality, and lesser time to feedback whether its a bugs or feature requests. Moreover, we will add all the missing information that we don’t yet see on the website (DashPay, CoinJoin, Dash Platform), and work together with everyone in the community to include as much info as possible in there. However, it is not going to fast, I would expect a 6-9 month work timeline for rebuilding the website.

Thus, it will require new design mocks, that BMD (BlackMirrorDesigner) is going to help us with. It may be built on the current Dash brand guidelines, however it has not been updated for a long time, and the assets, colors, fonts, patterns are seems outdated as they do not match current user experience people see in blockchain projects in 2025. We could have a new fresh basement, with which we could build a better products, and it’s not only for a website purpose. Developers, designers, marketers, content makers, whoever would like to make a video or blog post, the first thing they do, they download guidelines to grab fonts, logos and pictures.

So the question is more what path should we go, work with what we have now, website will be much simpler, less nice, and visually not so attractive, or start with preparing design toolset that could be reused by everybody and will make Dash looks better for everyone in a long perspective. I have been working with BMD for a past 6 month, and I have strong confidence about him and people that he knows, they deliver a highest quality for a fair price.

BMD already working with me under my budget, and in case he will get funded independently, I will reduce my ask on the pshenmic.dev DFO, which should release the monthly amount the PO ask. Together with that, we are going really fast with Platform Explorer, and it’s getting less and less big features to implement (2-3 months), allowing us to move the load on the website soon. It makes it a perfect timeline for both of us, and I believe that the current DAO budget distribution should not change much.

I would like to further clarify my position on this matter; we do not have any issues with design branding or assets, it is as noted above, we are held back from making significant improvements to the website due to the WordPress platform. Our in-house designer has a backlog of designs that are being implemented but it takes longer to complete due to the technical debt that we are dealing with. Ideally, pshenmic's team can move us off of WordPress so that we can implement more exciting designs. As noted by others, we do NOT need a complete re-branding for Dash, we just need better tech under our website. Lastly, it doesn't make sense to me paying for a second designer when the one we have in-house has been with us for years and does a great job.

Can I point out the elephant in the room? ONE designer in a DAO. Please think about it. ONE. DESIGNER. Let's count the number of developers. 1-2-3-10-100? From this point of view, Dash has zero designers if we calculate the ratio.

Check the social media and try to run a Dash search. Most of the visuals are AI poorly generated graphics that even showcase the previous old Dash logo. Lack of designers leads to using clipart-generated content that just looks like spam. Be honest, Dash lost its "branding" face, dissolved in that endless junk of "ai-content".

Yes, you pay the guy that does the, so to say, "great job". For years. And yet we don't have a "great product" that everyone talks about — just an average-looking product that people try to skip. I saw the Figma files, I gave him my honest feedback; most of the team agrees with it. Both Sam and Paul like my designs better than Ross. Can I blame them for that?

My experience shows that every single living project needs a TEAM of designers to maintain the speed of other living projects. Creators should research the problems, think, generate solutions, art, create solid guides, and based on this guides — the devs should do their work and improve our ecosystem. Glue together all the bits and pieces to present the world one united ecosystem, not a simple "coin". Or do we want to just remain on the same level and downgrade? Just check the ATH price and where we are now, -98.33%? Do you call this "a good job" or can we perform even worse than this? It's only 0.67% to 99%....

Is Dash a living project that needs help from 2 creative teams (5 designers)? That's the question, not the revamp of branding.

Let's create some guides for future posts on our socials, great videos, and some nice art with 3d render animation. I'm already cookin' this. Just check the #brainstorm channel in Dash Discord and see for yourself the products I design and the art we are generating with my team.

bmd; I do not want to discourage outside design suggestions/improvements (particularly videos and 3D assets) but I just want to make it clear that our bottleneck is not making designs. The problem is that we do not have the development resources to implement them and as already noted, we are limited in the type of designs that we can implement on the website due to the WordPress platform. As for your comments about old logos being posted on social media, Ross has pointed this out in the past as well and started providing designs/graphics to the marketing team to avoid this; it was not Ross posting old logos...

I don't feel comfortable with the Dash Incubator redirecting its attention from supporting Dash Platform to now supporting the Dash website as well. Feels like a ploy to keep a part of Dash Incubator devs busy untill JS SDK's (either through AJ & Pshenmic or through DCG) and or devs supportive documentation is at such a state (in the eyes of Dash Incubator), that it can attract developers.

I rather wish to see Dash Incubator laser-focused on supporting Dash Platform, including delivering the first Dapp to Dash Platform. We have 0 dapps. 0 !!!

Here is a challenge for the Dash Incubator :

Put up a new bounty : first developer that release a dapp to mainnet through Dash Incubator gets x amount of dash. Make it an substantial bounty.

I don't agree with this. Here are our brand guidelines: https://www.dash.org/brand-guidelines/#group-tab3 (check other groups too). I personally don't see these as outdated and getting all of mobile and a lot more to update would just be a distraction when we need usable features, not a UI/UX revamp.

I definitely don't want to change the logo for example and I don't really want this to even be discussed. To me it's a distraction from what we really need to be building. And we have a lot to build.

I get it. Branding is not the top priority for everyone. I'm not offering to change the logo. Just making Dash look and feel solid everywhere. Clean UX. Smooth identity. Strong first impression.

And yes. There is an old brandbook that even you don't use in your website and apps. Open the link and check the font section, it says:

Montserrat

But you website is built using the default figma font "Inter".

This is what I say — there is no consistency in the ecosystem, even the old brandbook is not considered while developing new dApps. From the point of view of people that actually use on a daily basis your products — there comes a huge need in getting this thing refreshed.

I don't see how this can distract you personally from what you're doing, we're saying "give us the possibility to work 3 months". No distractions, only hard work. Or not.

Voted No. Not only a case of bad timing (we can't really afford another 300-600 dash budget proposal right now with current low Dash price), but also a case of wrong priority (how many times did we have the dash.org site rebranded over the years ? Is now really a good time to start that all over again ?).

We have far more pressing issues to worry about, including keeping DCG going and Dash Marketing going (possibly extending) coming months.

I disagree. I think current branding style is modern and does not need to be this deeply revamped/revisualized/rebranded, like bmd is proposing. I also think these changes do not automatically translate to more users coming to the site, as bmd is claiming ('attract more people interested in privacy, speed, and strong governance').

And with regards to promoting Dash Platform, i think it will be at least 9 months or longer before we can promote a complete product (Platform - Smart Contracts - SDK - Dapps - Tokens marketplace) to the market. By that time we can create a few additional landingplaces for them on dash.org
