Proposal description

The purpose of this proposal is to draw awareness to the staking service offered at https://crowdnode.io/.

The proposal owner is in no way affiliated with Crowdnode.

The proposal asks for 10 Dash/month for the following 12 months.  If successful, the Dash will be paid to the Crowdnode wallet address XjbaGWaGnvEtuQAUoBgDxJWe8ZNv45upG2 and will be distributed according to their normal rules, 1.5 Dash will go to the team to pay for the service, the remaining 8.5 Dash will be distributed to the stakers as a 'bonus'.  Note that this proposal's purpose is not necessarily to get funded, but rather to be present in the DAO as a reminder that this service exists, if you choose to vote YES on this proposal, we will be truly humbled and appreciate the endorsement.

Crowdnode is a one of Dash's longest running partners, founded in late 2017, the service has been going from strength-to-strength year after year.  In June 2022 they launched mobile staking which through a decentralized blockchain API allowed for staking from the mobile wallet without KYC.  Then, late in 2022, Crowdnode launched the much-anticipated trustless staking and then in July 2023 Crowdnode launched their first Evonode formally known as High Performance MN (HPMN).

Give them a follow at https://twitter.com/crowdnode

Crowdnode allows anyone to stake Dash with as little as 0.5 Dash and share in a partial masternode https://mnowatch.org/crowdnode/ 39 the time of writing.  With each masternode payment, stakers are paid their share of the rewards, sometimes several times a day at a rate of approx. 7.7% annualized.  Crowdnode takes a flat fee of 15% in Dash from all masternode payments.  Crowdnode offers an important service by giving people the chance to own a partial masternode and thus lowering the barrier to entry and the risk one might face owning 1000 Dash (eg price volatility).  Crowdnode has been hugely successful, ending the year (2023) with close to 100K Dash staked collectively, with 8k of that Dash held in self-custody wallets.

Crowdnode is also making a big splash in the DAO with their voting power, they are often able to decide the outcomes of marginal proposals.  All members in Crowdnode can vote in the DAO, and since not everyone chooses to vote, those that vote get to vote with the 'delegated' Dash thus giving them a greater say in the DAO than they otherwise would.  You can see how that works on this page https://mnowatch.org/crowdnodewatch/ and also see what balances some accounts hold.

C'mon, throw some Dash at Crowdnode users, they have been good for Dash.

I am THRILLED to see this proposal having its intended effect! Crowdnode just passed 100k Dash total assets managed, of which 9000 is in trustless storage, completely rug-proof! Well done Crowdnode and thank you for your attention.

I just noticed that 2005 Dash was shoved into Crowdnode sending it to a new ATH AUM, is this proposal working?

A similar proposal has been submitted to the PIVX DAO see https://imgur.com/a/vmJZACJ to raise awareness of staking Dash with Crowdnode.io. Can anyone suggest more DAOs we can infiltrate and spread the word?

Giving additional incentives for staking on crowdnode instead of running own masternodes can lead to unnecessary centralization. It's a no for me.

I see it more as giving everyone the opportunity to participate in the Dash network. Through Crowdnode one can become a partial MNO with just 1 Dash, I find that deeply empowering and also decentralizing, give it some thought. ;)

my concerns are not about crowdnode itself, but if it's more attractive to stake on crowdnode instead of running my own node, then I will definitely retire my node and transfer my DASH to crowdnode, because I will be rewarded better if I do so.

It's a yes from me, any promotion of our gems is a good idea.

I don't understand this at all, what are you proposing in English? That we give you 10 Dash, you'll give 1.5 to crowdnode and what?

And why dont we give the 10 dash directly to crowdnode?

What is the purpose of Avid_Staker being an intermediate between the budget and crowdnode?

The payout address of this proposal is the crowdnode wallet address, there is no intermediary.

>"1.5 Dash will go to the team to pay for the service"

So there obviously is an intermediary.

I just wonder how Avid_Staker will get his 1.5 Dash reward, as long as the proposal is about to be paid directly into the crownode address.

Will Avid_Staker ask from whatever is the owner of the crowdnode address to pay him back 1.5?

I believe he means that the 1.5 will go to the Crowdnode team as per the normal percentage. He probably shouldn't have even mentioned it as it creates confusion.

You are absolutely correct ! Apologies for creating the confusion.
