Proposal description

Hi, masternode owners.

As you may know, this week has marked the first campaign in our most recently passed treasury proposal, which provides four weeks’ worth of social media-based market outreach. It requested 79 Dash in labor and 67 Dash for paid incentives.

The first week’s campaign – #FirstDashWallet – has already garnered 700+ participants (plus their 700+ friends) in its first 5 days. This much-larger-than-expected turnout means that as of today, we’ve already paid out our whole month’s worth of incentives: 67 Dash, and then some.

There are still 2 days left for #FirstDashWallet entries, and they’re coming in faster, not slower, over time. We may well end up with 1,500+ posts, making for 3,000+ human participants.

The labor of making and documenting these payouts is currently 8-10 man hours per day, 7 days per week, as we are doing fraud checks on and accounting for every entry (we’ll make our spreadsheet available for your viewing when the campaign is complete). This is many more work hours than we budgeted for, and it might still grow.

To determine how we go forward, our question to you is:

If we complete the #FirstDashWallet campaign payouts through their deadline (Tuesday the 13th), as well as execute our remaining three social media campaigns (likely with easier tasks, at a payout rate lower than $20 per), would you be willing to vote “yes” to reimburse our continued payout costs, plus some additional labor cost?

Thank you for your time, and for entrusting us to grow your investment.

Discussion: Should we fund this proposal?

Is this proposal well funded enough? I am happy to raise a new proposal for say 2,000 Dash with 10% to go to admin costs but I don't want to give Amanda more work than she has time for?

Do we let the same person set up multiple dash wallets? Because not doing it would be an error. We need to have many people connected that use dash. SO they start using it among them.

First of all I like the fact that you use the budget asking governance questions. I hope you agree that those governance questions should be cheep.

On the subject now:
You have already invited in Dash the ignorants and third world people that are using twitter or facebook.

Could you please now focus on the Knowledgeable?

Here is the list of countries that support electornic sugnatures for their citizents.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_signatures_and_law

Could you please Invite also the knowledgeable, and not only the ignorants???

You can keep a percentage among the invited ingorants and Knowledgeable.

If you dont know what is the correct percentage to keep, vote the numbers for it.

Getting an accountable answer to a serious governance question can very hardly be cheap.

The point about the rest of the comment regarding "the knowledgeable" and "the ignorants" is very hard to comprehend.

And of course, if you see that the decided percentage between ignorants and knowledgeable is not achieved, you should increase the bounty to whatever group remains skeptical, and until the desired pecentage is reached.

I think Yes!

I agree to using any leftover budget funds for this promotion, and have it be an ongoing thing. It makes sense to get Dash out there into the hands of people who can spread it around to their local communities. I would just advise that a higher level of fraud detection be implemented (Not saying you're not doing a good job now, but it's a good practice for future consideration).

This is a worthy project to scoop any remaining monthly budget into- I would vote for this as a proposal as if we can foster growth in the communities we are seeing on twitter Venezuela, Nigeria, Indonesia, India, Columbia - This adds significant value to the Dash block chain

I think Yes, but amounts should be reduced down from $20 to some lower value. ($10 ?)

Not only did I vote yes, I published my photo with Juan Sebastian today! This is a great campaign! Thanks Amanda!

Amanda = trust. Trust is not something you will get but you deserve it over a long time. I know that Amanda will do only good things for Dash so you will have my votes for a new proposal. Thanks for all your work you have done so far. Bossie

I don't like you risking your own funds for this. I wish you'd put in a proposal this month for funding. If you got more funding than you need, we all know you will put it to good use. In fact, there are so few good proposals this month, I'd like to see you put one in before the month is over please. Your projects are valuable, and I'd like to see you do more next month :) ( Work Work Work!!!) LOL

And I would not reduce the $20 dollar reward amount until the marketing campaign goes up an order of magnitude. At the moment, if something is working really really well, why change it?

Slam dunk yes. This also presents another opportunity. Dashdisciple and the new treasury tracking/accountability team have a proposal going for better vetting and accountability of proposals. They just offered to help Amanda B. Johnson with this new very successful viral marketing campaign.

Let's assure Amanda B. Johnson that we will pay double or triple the labor costs, and she can work/coordinate with Dashdisciple and the Treasury team and give us some feedback from first hand experience.

AND, let's expand (or promise to expand) the reward money 5-10x on top of the additional labor cost.

I agree 100%. I have assigned a tech support worker to assist Amanda in the ramp-up period. He manages others and can bring them on to scale this, if necessary. I will cover their wages myself and go to other investor colleagues for direct investment, if need be.

After this, I can have a programmer write a tracking program to see data about public key usage. My marketing intuition and calculations say that it'd be pretty close to impossible to lose on this promotion (however big it got, 100x?), but it's always better to be armed with precise data.

Keep it going! If you can roll out a similar event every month or every other month that would be great.

I'd vote yes for 3000 DASH if you give away 0.02 DASH per new wallet, if less than 150,000 people sign up, distribute the remainder to the people who did.

Please take more of our money. I would vote yes if you asked for 10x the amount.

This right here, folks. 10-20x or more if we're lucky. Amanda, you can sleep next month.

Absolutely, yes, yes, and another yes. You just made a viral campaign, Amanda. This type of thing is rare and maintaining momentum is critical. Every Dash holder will benefit to see how big it can go. Will definitely throw my votes at it, and rally votes for this any way I can.

Aside from funding for increased payouts, is there any way a group of us could be organized to help with fraud checks? I could pull 1-2 people off abob54's team to help until the end of the month, if needed.

Yes, I could use someone's help to track the entries. They're coming in about every 4 minutes on Twitter and every 20 minutes on Facebook. I would really benefit if someone(s) would enter them into my spreadsheet as they come in, and I'll pay them in batches throughout the day.

I have a tech support worker who has been briefed on the promotion and the specifics of the task, and is ready to begin now. We can scale support beyond 1 person if necessary. I'll pay his salary out of my own pocket. This promotion is too valuable to slow down.

For sure Amanda, this is the only way we should be marketing Dash. Highly encouraged this marketing tactic. Though it needs to be much much cheaper.

Yes and please expand the #firstDashWallet... the budget has plenty of room and putting small amounts of dash in many hands is a great path forward.

Yes, why didn't you ask for the money in this proposal? kill two birds! burn only 5 Dash :)
Reply

Because I don't know at this time how much Dash will go out in the next 3 weeks. If I could know these things ahead of time, I would never have run out in the first place. :)

Giveaways connected to social media always have a tendency to be successful so I'm not surprised :) Keep up the good work and you got my votes.

Yes -- there is zero chance the budget is going to be full this month, and this is a relatively cheap way to get more people engaged. I think that giving away dash in campaigns like this brings way more value to the network than having the coins not be created.

I initially thought the $20 was a bit steep (I probably would have done less), but maybe that was part of why it did so well /shrug

Reply

How are you measuring if this is successful? Do we have an idea of how many people who get a wallet end up investing in some way?
Reply
3 points,7 years ago
If new people receive Dash, then it is successful.
Half the budget could get $10 of Dash to 60,000 people. if they lose it, spend it, hodl it or buy more doesn't really matter. If 50% are people that does not have cryptos, then that would be 30,000 people that had Dash as their point of entry to this industry. I'd be happy if we put half the budget on this for another year.

Exactly this. This is a competitive advantage that Dash has, that no other coin has. We must use it.
