Dash Embassy Turkey Q2 - 2019 Proposal


First, let us summarize why Turkey craves for an unconfiscatable, censorship resistant, easily transferable, global Digital Cash.

Why should the Network fund a Dash Embassy in Turkey?

Unfortunately, there has been no monetary and economic stability for over 5 years; The Turkish Lira is constantly losing its value, and people are seeking alternatives.

Population:

Turkey plays a critical role as a transcontinental Eurasian country that stretches across Southeastern Europe and Western Asia.
The country holds a population of 82 million, and 50% of this number is under the age of 30 (https://www.indexmundi.com/turkey/age_structure.html). This young generation of 40 million is born in Turkey’s digital era; therefore, they instinctively use and prefer digital payment methods for their day-to-day transactions.

Remittance:

Turks make up one of the largest minorities in Germany with more than 4 million people. According to a report by Wirtschaftswoche, a German business magazine, a total of 5.1B Euros were transferred from migrants living in Germany to their families abroad. What will the DAO get out of this proposal?

Our overall goal is to establish Dash as a safe harbor for the Turkish population and increase the adoption of Dash as a means of payment in our country.

Business Development:

We want to increase the number of FIAT on and off ramps (Exchanges) and make Dash available for Lira purchases. Together with Dash Embassy D-A-CH we had first talks with https://www.paribu.com/ and https://www.btcturk.com/ and will take over those leads completely as soon as we get funded.

Integrations:

Due to our demographics (https://www.indexmundi.com/turkey/age_structure.html) we know that most of these young people are into gaming. The gaming industry's revenue is expected to show an annual growth rate of 6.1%, resulting in a market volume of $371M by 2023.

User penetration is at 19.6% in 2019 and is expected to hit 30.9% by 2023 (https://www.statista.com/outlook/203/113/video-games/turkey). This target group is already familiar with digital payments and alternative money such as in-game currencies. This is why we decided to focus on the gaming industry in the beginning stages as the first tile in a row of dominoes. We believe they will be the first adopters of DASH.

Events

We plan to organize several free Turkish Coffee & DASH meetups on highly populated venues like i.e. Shopping malls, Starbucks, Hotels. We will be introducing DASH as an unconfiscatable, censorship resistant, easily transferable, global Digital Cash.

In addition, we will organize free educational workshops at universities and high schools. We will have a presentation in Turkish inspired by the Dash Meetup presentation on https://docs.dash.org/en/stable/marketing.html and contribute it to the network, so every Turkish native speaker can download and use it.

In the future we will try to arrange sponsorships for e-Sports Teams & Events. You might see an additional proposal for that in the upcoming months.

As explained above the remittance market between Turkey and Germany is one of the most vital in Europe. In these events, we will demonstrate step-by-step how easy and instant the process is to use Dash compared to other methods.
